The founder of the city is Brigham Young, the leader of the Mormons. Not surprisingly, Salt Lake City is a Mormon religious centre. The holy place for them is the historic Temple Square complex. It is an area of 4 hectares, on which the Salt Lake Temple, the Mormon Tabernacle, the Assembly Hall, and the Temple Annex are located. There are also monuments and information centres that will tell you about the Mormon faith and doctrine. The area is decorated with flower beds and trees and is especially beautiful during the flowering period.

The Tracy Aviary is located in the vicinity of Salt Lake City. The bird sanctuary began with a private collection of birds donated to the city by local banker Russell Lord Tracy. The collection contains about 135 species and about 400 birds. Some of the species found here are members of the Species Survival Plan program. It is a program that contributes to the genetic diversity of captive animal populations.
