Visitors can feel like true royalty in the Belvoir Castle’s King’s Suite which once hosted Queen Victoria herself

If you have ever wished to live like a king or queen, now is your chance. For the first time in its history, the Belvoir Castle — which was used as a filming location for a popular historical drama The Crown — will offer its King’s Suite to guests on Airbnb

As a part of charitable activity, the suite purposely built for the royalty will be available for one-night stays on 31 December 2019, as well as on 11 and 25 January 2020.

Visitors to the ancestral home of the Rutland family can look forward to enjoying an opulent and beautifully furnished room. Featuring beautiful decor, Chinese wallpaper, and a huge and comfortable bed, the suite was even suitable as a temporary home to important historical figures such as Queen Victoria or George IV.

Right upon their arrival, guests will be offered afternoon tea “within the very grounds where the tradition of afternoon tea is said to have originated back in the 1840s,” the castle’s Airbnb profile says.

“Afternoon tea will be followed by dinner in the state dining room and a drinks reception in a library. The following morning, a light breakfast will be served before checkout.”

Proceeds from the stays will be donated to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People — Airbnb . Castle featured in The Crown is now available on Airbnb Group Created with Sketch. Proceeds from the stays will be donated to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People — Airbnb

The price for the unique experience is £300, but the proceeds will be donated to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. However, the hosts require the visitors to qualify for their stay first.

“Potential guests must have a verified Airbnb profile, positive reviews and should read the house rules carefully,” the conditions read.

Royal treatment with a “beautiful view”

While pronounced as “beaver”, the Belvoir Castle underlines its original meaning “beautiful view” in French with its picturesque views over the Vale of Belvoir in Leicestershire.

Dating back to the Norman times, experts consider the castle to be “one of the finest examples of Regency architecture in the country.”

Crowning a hill, it covers 16,000 acres of land and includes properties, a park, and woodland. Its turrets and towers rise over the valley like an illustration in a romantic fairy tale.

If you wish to experience all the royal treatment the castle’s King’s Suite can offer, you should act fast. Its booking availability is limited to the three dates only.
