Can I enter the Bahamas?

As of April 2022, all travelers can enter the Bahamas. However, several COVID-19 restrictions are in place.

Please be aware that all foreign travelers have to complete the Bahamas Travel Health Visa when before their trip.

Can I enter the Bahamas if I am vaccinated?

You can enter the Bahamas if you are vaccinated. You are considered fully vaccinated if at least 14 days after completing your vaccination course.

At present, the following vaccine drugs are approved in Bahamas:

  • AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria/Covishield)
  • Janseen (Johnson & Johnson)
  • Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty)
  • Moderna (Spikevax)
  • Sinopharm
  • Covaxin
  • Sinovac

Travel documents if I am vaccinated 

If you are fully vaccinated, please present the following documents:

  • A document confirming your vaccination status
  • A negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 72 hours before arrival (PCR, NAA, NAAT, TMA, or RNA)

Can I enter the Bahamas if I am unvaccinated?

You can enter the Bahamas if you are unvaccinated.

Travel documents if I am unvaccinated 

  • A negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival (PCR, NAA, NAAT, TMA, or RNA)

Please, note that one of these tests is required for recovered individuals as well.

Can I leave the Bahamas?

There are no tight restrictions for leaving the Bahamas. However, please note that all citizens and residents returning to the Bahamas after a trip of more than two days have to present a rapid antigen or PCR test result taken no less than 24 hours before arrival in the Bahamas.

Travel documents if I am vaccinated 

  • A document confirming vaccination status

Please ensure that you’ve checked the requirements of your destination country concerning COVID-19 tests for vaccinated travelers. 

Travel documents if I am unvaccinated 

  • A certificate of recovery from COVID-19 (no more than 180 days old before the day of crossing the border of a particular country)
  • A negative COVID-19 test result (the relevant period and kind of test may vary, please check the requirements of your destination country in advance)

As of April 2022, more than 80% of the total Bahamian population has been fully vaccinated, making international travel safer.

Is it safe to travel to the Bahamas right now?

Although no travel is safe amid COVID-19, the Bahamas is relatively safe. Due to the recent decline of COVID-19 cases, travelers no longer need to take a test when traveling within the island to such places as New Providence (Nassau), Paradise Island, or Grand Bahama Island (Freeport). 

Is Nassau open for travel now?

Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is open for tourists now. 

Do I have to quarantine if I go to the Bahamas?

Currently, travelers do not have to follow any quarantine measures in the Bahamas. 

How do I get a health pass to travel to the Bahamas?

Your health pass will be a completed Bahamas Travel Health Visa before departure.
