Can I enter Monaco?
As of April 2022, Monaco is open for tourism. However, a number of COVID-19 restrictions are still in place. The rules that pertain to you depend on your departure country.
Traveling to Monaco from “Green countries”
The following countries and territories are currently on the so-called “Green list”:

Travel documents if you are vaccinated
- A vaccination certificate (valid from 28 days after administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or seven days after the second dose of two-dose vaccines)
Travel documents if you are unvaccinated
- The negative result of a PCR/antigen test taken within the previous 24 hours, or
- A certificate of recovery from COVID-19 (the positive result of a PCR test taken between 11 days and six months prior to travel)
Traveling to Monaco from “Orange countries”
“Orange countries” are countries and territories on neither the Green list nor the “Red list”.
Travel documents if you are vaccinated
- A vaccination certificate (valid from 28 days after administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or seven days after the second dose of two-dose vaccines)
Travel documents if you are unvaccinated
Unvaccinated and unrecovered foreign travelers from Orange-list countries are forbidden to enter Monaco for tourism. However, this ban will not apply to you if you are recovered and can present a positive PCR test result from any point between 11 days and six months prior to travel.
Traveling to Monaco from “Red countries”
Presently, there are no countries on the “Red list”.
Travel documents if you are vaccinated
- A vaccination certificate (valid from 28 days after administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or seven days after the second dose of two-dose vaccines)
Travel documents if you are unvaccinated
Unvaccinated and unrecovered foreign travelers from Red-list countries are forbidden to enter Monaco for tourism. However, this ban will not apply to you if you are recovered and can present a positive PCR test result from any point between 11 days and six months prior to travel.
Can I leave Monaco?
Currently, it is possible to leave Monaco and travel to almost all countries.
Travel documents if you are vaccinated
Vaccinated travelers must have one of the following documents to leave Monaco:
- Their EU digital COVID certificate (to travel within the EU)
- Another document confirming vaccination (to travel outside the EU)
In addition, be aware of any testing and vaccination requirements at your destination country in advance.
Travel documents if you are unvaccinated
Please present one of the following documents:
- A certificate of recovery from COVID-19 (no more than 180 days old before the day of crossing the border of a particular country)
- A negative COVID-19 test result (the relevant period and kind of test may vary, please check the requirements of the destination country)

Do I have to go into quarantine if I go to Monaco?
Both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers arriving from Green countries are exempt from quarantine.
Fully vaccinated and recovered travelers from Orange and Red countries are exempt from quarantine.
However, unvaccinated visitors from Orange countries (who have an essential need to travel) must:
- Self-isolate for seven days upon arrival in Monaco
- Present two negative PCR test results — one test to be taken within 24 hours of arrival, and the second test to be taken between days five and seven of quarantine
Unvaccinated visitors from Red countries (who have an essential need to travel) must:
- Present the negative result of a PCR/antigen test taken no more than 24 hours before arrival
- Self-isolate for 10 days and take a new PCR test at the end of this isolation period
How do I get a health pass to travel to Monaco?
If you are traveling from the EU or the Schengen Area, you can download the EU Digital COVID Certificate application. Travelers from outside the EU countries should carry their documents in paper format.
