Can I enter the Philippines?

At present, the Philippines is open for travel to all countries. However, it is mandatory to complete the Health Pass first prior to arrival in the Philippines.

Can I enter the Philippines if I am vaccinated?

You can enter the Philippines if you are vaccinated. You must get a full vaccination course at least 14 days before arriving in the Philippines.

As of January 2022, the following vaccines are approved in the Philippines:

  • Pfizer
  • AstraZeneca
  • CoronaVac
  • Sputnik V 
  • Johnson & Johnson (Janssen)
  • Covaxin
  • Moderna
  • Sinopharm
  • Covovax

Travel documents if you are fully vaccinated 

If you are fully vaccinated, present both documents:

  • A vaccination certificate
  • A negative PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before entering the Philippines

Please note, if you are entering the Philippines through a visa, you need to purchase travel insurance for COVID-19 treatment with a minimum coverage of $ 35,000.

Can I enter the Philippines if I am unvaccinated?

You can enter the Philippines if you are unvaccinated if you present the papers listed below.

Travel documents if you are unvaccinated

If you are unvaccinated, present one of the following documents:

  • A negative PCR test that is no more than 48 hours old before entering the Philippines
  • A recovery certificate that is no more than 180 days old

Please note unvaccinated travelers have to self-isolate at a quarantine facility until they get the negative test results.

Can I leave the Philippines?

There are no tight COVID-19 restrictions for leaving the Philippines. Please learn the requirements concerning different declarations and tests for travelers of the destination country in advance.

Vaccinated travelers can leave the Philippines.

  • A certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19 in paper or electronic format

If you are unvaccinated, please present one of the following documents:

  • A certificate of recovery from COVID-19 (no more than 180 days old before the day of crossing the border of a particular country)
  • A negative COVID-19 test result (the relevant period and kind of test may vary, please check the requirements of the destination country)

As of February 2022, the COVID-19 situation in most cities of the Philippines is categorized as an “Alert 4” (high risk). More than 51 percent of the local population have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Although the Philippines is categorized as a “high risk” country, international travel is possible and safe if you follow basic COVID-19 rules:

  • Masks are required in public places
  • Temperature checks are obligatory in all recreation areas

Presently, Manila is open for travelers. COVID-19-related restrictions in the capital are the same as the nationwide rules.

Do I have to quarantine if I go to the Philippines?

Vaccinated travelers are exempt from quarantine.

Unvaccinated travelers 

  • Self-isolate at quarantine facilities upon arrival
  • Undergo a swab test on day five
  • Self-isolation is complete when a negative test is received
