Can I enter Rwanda?
As of May 2022, foreign travelers can enter Rwanda following a number of COVID-19 restrictions.
Can I enter Rwanda if I am vaccinated?
Presently, vaccinated travelers can enter Rwanda.
There are six vaccine drugs approved in Rwanda (as of May 2020):
- Pfizer / BioNTech
- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
- Oxford / AstraZeneca
- Moderna
- Covilo
- Sputnik V
Travel documents if you are fully vaccinated
If you are vaccinated, please present both documents:
- A vaccination certificate
- A negative PCR test result taken within 73 hours before arrival in Rwanda

Unvaccinated travelers can enter Rwanda.

If you are unvaccinated, please present:
- A negative PCR test result taken within 73 hours before arrival in Rwanda
Please note that the status of recovery from COVID-19 also has to be supplemented by the COVID-19 test.
Can I leave Rwanda?
There are no COVID-related restrictions for leaving Rwanda.
Travel documents if you are vaccinated
Vaccinated travelers must have a document confirming vaccination. Please learn the requirements of a particular country in advance.
Travel documents if you are unvaccinated
Unvaccinated travelers have to present one of the following documents:
- Documentation of recovery from COVID-19 (it has to state that the visitor has been infected no later than six months before the day of crossing the border of a particular country)
- A negative COVID-19 test result (the relevant period and kind of test may vary, please check the requirements of the destination country)

How do I get a health pass to travel to Rwanda?
A Passenger Locator Form completed before arrival in Rwanda will be used as a health pass.
