The airline has partnered with CarePod to create a state-of-the-art pet travel carrier
Your furry friends can now experience a new standard of travel when flying with Delta. The company has teamed up with CarePod to create a state-of-the-art pet travel carrier with many industry-leading features.
The carriers are fitted with innovative technology, such as real-time updates throughout the journey, which will provide first-class pet safety while on the go. Other features include stronger walls protecting against temperature fluctuations, windows and doors with blinds to help create calming environment, or the world’s first built-in hydration system. In addition, there will be a GPS tracking and monitoring system connecting directly to Delta Cargo Control Center.
After a successful two-month trial period, preceded by five years of research, development, and testing, Delta will launch a phased rollout in the United States. The CarePod carrier will be offered at eight US locations: Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York (JFK and LaGuardia), San Francisco and West Palm Beach.
A phased rollout across Delta’s United States’ network is expected to follow.
“Continuous innovation is in Delta’s DNA and the launch of the CarePod pet travel carrier, an industry first, is an example of us seeking out innovative partnerships and looking at ways to improve the customer experience throughout all parts of their journey,” said Shawn Cole, Vice President — Delta Cargo.
“As the only airline to offer this premium pet travel solution, it represents a significant improvement for the millions of people who want to travel with their four-legged family members.”
Delta provides special training to ground handlers who take care of the animals
