Kiwi.com beats Skiplagged, Momondo and Kayak in this year’s ranking
The travel website Frommer’s has released their 10 Best Airfare Search Sites for 2022, a ranking in which Kiwi.com takes second position.
Beating aggregators and OTAs such as Booking.com, Skiplagged and Kayak, Kiwi.com was praised for its capacity to find the lowest fares, as well as for its “powerful filters” and “modern travel hacks”. In particular, the Nomad travel hack was commended with the comparison to “a virtual travel agent”.
Surprisingly, this year’s ranking has seen some of the bigger names in the industry drop out of the top 10 — namely Expedia, CheapOAir and Priceline.
Frommer’s methodology for producing its ranking involved searching for the same 28 itineraries on all websites. The itineraries were varied to include major routes, lesser-flown routes, journeys of short and long durations, and those for dates in the near and distant future. The scores were mainly based on the prices returned, with some notable mentions of site features and customer service.
