Travelling with your four-legged companion can be demanding. But if your target destination is prepared enough, there isn’t much to worry about.

In its recent research, the Compare the Market site has come up with the best spots to take your dogs within the United States and the United Kingdom. To be able to tell the most dog-friendly destinations, the researchers compared the number of vets, parks, kennels, dog training stations as well as dog salons per capita in the area. The final count led to an overall score with winners for both countries.

Long Beach in Southern California scored the highest overall marks in the United States. With 985 dog training centres, 754 vets and 71 parks, dogs could hardly find a better place to feel secure and entertained at the same time.

The coastal city is closely followed by Mesa in Arizona and Atlanta in Georgia. Sacramento and Seattle score pretty high as well.

Apart from the basic comparison, Compare the Market has found out about some peculiar activities and facilities for dogs in various places. While New York City offers its poochies Doga — or dog yoga — Florida provides them with dog diving, and Chattanooga in Tennessee hosts frisbee competitions.

Nottingham rules the UK dogs’ world

Similarly to the United States, Great Britain and Northern Ireland feature quite a number of dog-friendly havens. In the recent comparison, it was Nottingham in central England’s Midlands region that scored the highest.

The second position belongs to Liverpool while Hull took the third rank. The country’s capital was ranked 16th most canine-friendly in the UK overall.

For more unusual time with your best buddy, head to Kent where you both can attend a CSI training to develop your mutual investigating skills. If you wish to experience something traditional, Somerset could satisfy you with sheepdog training. And after a long day, there is nothing more relaxing than dog hydrotherapy in Newcastle.
