A modern and luxurious refuge right at the heart of a historic town
Visiting the UNESCO sites of Kroměříž can be pretty exhausting. What seems to be a rather small area to walk through turns out to be a full day experience with plethora of activities and sightseeing.
I couldn’t have chosen a better option to relax after the long day than Penzion u Kubesa, a place of luxury and unexpected privacy right at the very centre of Kroměříž.
Located in a 17th century building just a few metres from the main square the pension combines an ancient grandeur with the touch of modern simplicity and stylishness.
The 18 air-conditioned rooms with large and very comfortable beds, high-speed wi-fi connection and a lavish bathroom will please even the most demanding visitors. The subtle tones of the interior contribute to a wholesome and peaceful atmosphere.
Cleanliness is the unbreakable virtue here, and the staff at the reception are helpful, with an everlasting smile on their faces.
The rooms are located on the upper floors which are accessible by an elevator, or by an ornate staircase that dates back to the origins of the building.
Even though the pension doesn’t have its own restaurant, this is not an issue. The best places to eat traditional Czech cuisine and choose from the selection of local wines and beers in Kroměříž are just a short walking distance through the narrow streets and the main square.
What I also appreciated about Penzion u Kubesa is their emphasis on eco-friendliness. The guesthouse is equipped with a smart system of heating, cooling, water heating and regulation that not only reduces unnecessary waste, but also makes it easy and quick to set the room to an ideal temperature for the highest comfort.
As the prices for the rooms start at $35 per night, the pension offers an affordable accomodation in the most pleasant surroundings that gives you much more than you would expect from a 4-star hotel.
The guesthouse currently scores 9.4 points out of 10 on Booking.com which makes it the highest rated place to stay in the whole Kroměříž.
