These are the terms and conditions (“Terms”) which apply to the “World Travel Hackers 2024” promotion that may be carried out via our Website or App, via various social media platforms or otherwise (“Campaign”).

In these Terms, “we”, “us”, “our”, all mean Kiwi.com s.r.o., having its registered address at Rohanské nábřeží 678/25, 186 00, Prague 8-Karlín, Czech Republic.

Start and end date/time

The duration of the Campaign will be from [1. 5. 2024] to [30. 9. 2024] (“Term”). The Term may be extended at our discretion. All times will be based on Central European Time.

Entering the Campaign

During the Term, an individual wishing to enter the Campaign (“Participant”) will have the opportunity to sign up to Kiwi.com Flight Crew and participate by sharing photos or videos depicting their traveller know-how and expertise on Instagram or Tiktok operated by Meta Platforms Limited and TikTok Technology Limited (“Platforms”) respectively.

From the pool of Participants that will meet all the requirements defined below, we will choose 12 Participants who, in addition to a person of their choice (“Travel Buddy“), will have the unique opportunity to cooperate with us (“World Travel Hacker Duo”). Each person may enter the Campaign only once.

The entry to the Campaign will be free of charge, and open to individuals aged 18 or over (at the time of entry) who:

  • are residents of and are based in any country that is a member of the United Nations with the exception of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and Syria at the time of entering the Campaign,
  • signed up for the Kiwi.com Flight Crew, received approval and a confirmation email, and subsequently publicly shared at least 3 photos or videos on the Platforms depicting why they’re the person to choose as a World Travel Hacker, introducing their Travel Buddy, and sharing their top money-saving tips for travelling (“Submission“),
  • have at least 500 followers on Instagram or TikTok and a public profile,
  • are eligible to travel (they have a passport that will be valid for at least 6 months after the end of August, 2024),
  • have their own (medical) insurance to cover the trip and their belongings,
  • have a freelance licence or are willing to get one at their own expense,
  • can create and edit photos or videos and have their own equipment to do so,
  • fluency in English (at least C1 level), and
  • agreed with these Terms.

Only the Participant has to fulfil all of the above-mentioned criteria. The Participant’s Travel Buddy is however required to be fluent in English and shall possess the necessary legal documentation and permissions to travel without restriction to the same extent as the Participant.

Employees, employee’s family members and influencers that we will use to advertise this Campaign are not eligible to participate.

Any posts submitted to the Kiwi.com Flight Crew or conduct of the Participant deemed by Kiwi.com, in its sole discretion, to be sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, illegal, offensive, harassing, inappropriate, unrelated to Kiwi.com or travel, or containing derogatory references to Kiwi.com or any other person or entity shall result disqualification from the Campaign, revocation of the Participant’s membership in Kiwi.com Flight Crew and cancellation of vouchers received or to be received under Article 5.

Participants found to have engaged in, or suspected of engaging in, the purchase of likes, followers, or any other form of artificial engagement or manipulation of their social media presence may be subject to disqualification from the Campaign at our discretion.

Deadline to apply for the participation in the Campaign is [19. 6. 2024].

Selected candidates and remuneration

From the pool of Participants who meet all the requirements set forth in Art. 3, we will choose 12 Participants. Each of these selected Participants will then have the opportunity to invite their Travel Buddy to form a World Travel Hacker Duo. The selection will be based on the quality of their Submission, evaluated using the following criteria:

  • craft/production – awarded for visual appeal and level of photo or video editing skills,
  • storytelling – awarded for engagement and originality of the story depicted in the Submission,
  • creativity – awarded for displaying creativity,
  • engagement – awarded for the ability to create engaging and eye-catching content.

The World Travel Hacker Duos will get a unique chance to cooperate with Kiwi.com for a 4 week period between [July and September 2024] (at our choice) during which they will have to perform challenges specified by Kiwi.com (“Cooperation”).

During the Cooperation, each World Travel Hacker Duo will be tasked with fulfilling special challenges and including them in published posts on the Platforms (4 Youtube videos, 15 TikToks or IG reels, and 15 photos). For this purpose, the World Travel Hacker Duo will receive a budget of 10.000 EUR. Terms and conditions of Cooperation will be specified by the separate contract that will be concluded between us and the World Travel Hacker Duos.

Challenges have to be fulfilled using travel and savvy hacks. The more the World Travel Hacker Duo saves from the original budget, the more of it they may keep at the end of the Cooperation.

The World Travel Hacker Duos must provide us with their name and contact information. Their name will be published when announcing the selected candidates of the Campaign. World Travel Hacker Duos that do not wish to have their names publicly displayed have the option to inform us in advance by email. Failure of the World Travel Hacker Duos to provide us with real names can result in disqualification at our discretion.

The selected candidates will be contacted by [30. 6. 2024].

The Participant who fulfils the conditions to enter the Campaign as stated in Art. 3, including Participants who were not chosen as World Travel Hacker Duos in accordance with Art. 4, will receive a voucher for the future purchase with us depending on the number of posts that they posted in the Kiwi.com Flight Crew:

  • for the first post, the Participant will receive a voucher in the amount of €10 or the local currency equivalent,
  • for the third post, the Participant shall receive an additional voucher in the amount of €15 or the local currency equivalent,
  • for the fourth post, the Participant shall receive an additional voucher in the amount of €25 or the local currency equivalent,
  • for the fifth post, the Participant shall receive an additional voucher in the amount of €50 or the local currency equivalent.

We reserve the right to cancel the vouchers awarded if the posts in the Kiwi.com Flight Crew include content unrelated to Kiwi.com or travel.

The total value of vouchers a Participant may receive under this Article shall not exceed €100 or the local currency equivalent. All vouchers are valid for 3 months from issuance and will be sent within a reasonable time after the selection of World Travel Hacker Duos. To the use of the vouchers these terms apply.

By participating in the Campaign, the Participants and their Travel Buddies grant Kiwi.com a unlimited, perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use any content contained within the Submission that is protected by any intellectual property rights, incl. copyright and trademark protection (“Protected content”), for promotional purposes. Kiwi.com shall be entitled to authorise any third party to use the Protected content to the same extent. For the avoidance of doubt, Kiwi.com shall be entitled to use the Protected content in any manner in its discretion, including but not limited to performing changes, publication and/or modifications of the Protected Content in Kiwi.com’s own name. Kiwi.com is not obliged to use any of these rights. The Participants and their Travel Buddies shall not have the right for any remuneration in consideration of granting this licence.

In the event that  the Participants’ and their Travel Buddies’s actions infringe the copyrights of third parties, we shall not be liable for any damages. However, each Participant and their Travel Buddy is obliged to act in a way that would not interfere with any third party’s rights, especially intellectual property rights.

Participation in the Campaign also constitutes permission for us to use the likeness (as contained in the submitted photo or video) for advertising and promotional purposes without notice or additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Also, by sending the application Participants consent to us owning the content they send for the application task and if they get chosen, they consent to us owning the content they produce and using it in the future in company communication regardless of its purpose.
