How Kiwi.com handles travel emergencies
We send an email to all affected bookings, advising our customers to:
- Advise them to contact the affected airline or airport.
- Check the status of their flights before traveling to the airport.
When the Kiwi.com Guarantee applies:
The Kiwi.com Guarantee
applies when your flight is delayed, canceled, or rescheduled due to factors that can occur in the standard course of air transportation. In these situations, please check with the airline for an alternative flight. If the alternative flight offered to you affects the rest of your trip, you should then contact us to activate your Guarantee.
When the Kiwi.com Guarantee doesn’t apply:

- Extreme weather conditions
- Air traffic controller strikes
- Political instability
- Terrorist attacks
- Volcanic activity
- Airport closure
- Carrier insolvency
If you can’t reach the airline:
and we’ll do our best to assist you. However, in emergency situations, we may also find it difficult to reach the airline. Refunds in force majeure situations:
Refunds depend on airline policy. Use the Refunds and Cancellations form in Manage My Booking
to check the refund possibilities in your particular case. If you received any refund information from the airline, please include that in your application.
