What's Connection Protection?
If you booked a self-transfer itinerary, Connection Protection will cover you if your trip gets disrupted because airlines changed, canceled, or significantly delayed any part of it.
If that happens, we’ll offer you instant compensation in the form of Kiwi.com Credit which can be used to book a replacement flight right away. If your disruption results in an overnight stay, we’ll also help with accommodation. If you’d prefer a refund over Kiwi.com Credit, we can apply for a one from the airline on your behalf. We’ll try to collect as much of a refund as possible, but how much you’ll get depends on the airline’s policy.

The amount of Kiwi.com Credit we offer is calculated to cover the cheapest option that fits your itinerary with an arrival time within 24 hours of your original schedule. However, we’ll never offer you less than the airline’s reservation price for the disrupted flight.
If we learn about the disruption after the departure of your first flight, we’ll give you Kiwi.com Credit equal to the price of the cheapest alternative. If we learn about the disruption before or at the time of the departure of your first flight, we’ll give you Kiwi.com Credit up to the cost of your entire booking.
If you’d like to use your Credit for a replacement flight we encourage you to book one as soon as possible, as prices may go up. However, you can decide to hold onto the Kiwi.com Credit and save it for a future trip — it’s valid until the stated period of validity.
If you’d prefer a refund from the airline instead of Kiwi.com Credit, know that the refund amount and speed depend on their policies and relevant laws.
Please keep in mind that if you’d rather deal directly with the airline instead of accepting help from us, you can.
