Gdansk, together with Sopot and Gdynia, enters the Tri-city. Gdynia is a calm comfy town for a living. Sopot is also small but luxurious with lots of fancy restaurants and active nightlife. To visit the latter is a must for any Gdansk visitor. All three cities sit along the Baltic coast and are connected by convenient traffic interchange. The best and cheapest way to get to any of them is to use local train SKM. It goes once every 15 minutes during the day and once an hour at night.

The Baltic sea water isn’t as warm as in some other southern seas. In the Gdansk Bay, even in the hottest months (June–September), its temperature is likely to be below 20ºC (68F). Remember that if you are not a fan of cool water. And even if you are, checking seawater temperature online in advance is a good idea.

This 46-meter hill behind the present-day bus and train stations served a military function in the past. You can visit nearby Centrum Hewelianum to walk the brick tunnels of the local 19th-century fortress. However, even if you are not interested in military history, the hill offers a great Gdansk view.
