When it’s not possible to add baggage

No-checked-bag itineraries

Within your search results, we may offer you special itineraries labeled as No-checked-bag itineraries. Due to their specific nature, such itineraries are fully usable only if no checked baggage is included, otherwise, you may face obstacles on your journey. Please note that if you add checked baggage to such an itinerary, your purchased Kiwi.com Guarantee shall not apply and we bear no liability towards you or the carrier(s).

For example, we don’t offer checked baggage on itineraries that have a self-transfer with a short layover (usually less than 2 hours). These itineraries are not connected by the carriers, and it’s likely that you won’t have enough time to transfer with baggage. This is because you’d need to recheck your baggage and go through security control in transit.

We temporarily don't offer regular cabin baggage on some of these itineraries, either. Cabin baggage that doesn't fit under the seat needs to be checked in with some carriers due to COVID-19 safety measures.

We highly recommend that you do not add baggage on your own to No-checked-bag itineraries. If you need to travel with checked baggage, please pick a different itinerary.

You will lose the purchased Kiwi.com Guarantee if you add baggage to a no-checked-baggage itinerary.

If you plan to travel with a wheelchair or a stroller, please also choose an itinerary with a longer layover time. Carriers usually put these items into the cargo hold and you might need more time to wait for them.

Other itineraries where checked baggage is unavailable

In some rare cases, the carriers do not allow any checked baggage, or we can’t offer it to you for technical reasons.

If you have sufficient layover time and need to travel with checked baggage, please check the conditions of the particular carriers before booking. It might be possible to add baggage at the airport.

Alternatively, please, choose a different itinerary.

Less than 36 hours before the trip

You can request baggage up to 36 hours before your trip. It’s not possible to add it after.

If you want to bring checked baggage, you can add it at the airport. Please check the conditions of your carrier(s) for details.
