Discount for Spanish residents

Residents traveling on Ryanair from mainland Spain to the islands are eligible for discounted fare.

The Spanish government offers fare discounts to residents of the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, as well as to large families residing in Spain. We offer these discounts on Ryanair flights between mainland Spain and non-mainland airports. You’ll be able to add these discounts when you book your trip — you won’t be able to add them afterwards.

Please note that discounts are only for residents. If some passengers are non-residents, they’ll need to book a separate trip. Discounts cannot be applied to bookings that include both residents and non-residents.

Who is eligible?

  • Residents of the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, or the cities of Ceuta and Melilla who travel between their region of residence and any other part of Spanish territory.
  • Residents of Spain with a Large Family Card: Families with 3 or more children (or 2 in single-parent or widow families) who are residents of Spain and travel within the Spanish national territory.

Discount amount

  • Residents can get up to 75% off Ryanair base fares.
  • General large families with up to 3 children can get 5% off Ryanair base fares, and special large families with 4 or more children can get up to 10% off Ryanair base fares.

How to prove eligibility

When booking your trip:

  • Certificate of Residence or Parliamentary/Senatorial credentials, a valid passport or national identity card (DNI/NIE)
  • Large Family Certificate

When at the airport:

  • Passengers who request a residence discount must have a valid Residence Certificate. Ryanair is required to send your residence information to the Ministry of Development. If you receive pre-validation of your residence documents before completing your booking, you won’t need to present your residence certificate at the airport. If your residence certificate was not validated during the booking process, you’ll need to present a valid residence certificate along with your DNI/NIE at the airport.
  • Passengers who request a large family discount must show their Large Family Certificate at the Ryanair check-in counter. The certificate and travel documents must match the details provided at the time of booking, or boarding will be refused.
