The Market Square (Rynek), lined with terraced restaurants and cafes, is the city’s municipal, social and cultural centre. The defining landmark of Wroclaw’s centre is the Town Hall, built back in the 13th century. The neighbouring Plac Solny is always filled with scores of flower sellers, who gave it its second name — the Flower Market. The city’s tallest St. Elizabeth’s Church, the stunning University building and the Mathematical Tower are several more reasons to go to the Old Town.

Most shops in Wroclaw are closed on Sundays. There are only a few exceptions to this rule. For instance, you can go to a gourmet market or a flea market. Petrol station shop stations usually have all the necessities. However, that is a tiny fraction of what Wroclaw, a city with a dozen shopping malls, has to offer.
