The Garrotxa Volcanic Zone is the best example of volcanic terrain on the Iberian Peninsula. There you can see around 40 volcanic cones and more than 20 lava flows. If you want to enjoy nature without people, it is recommended to visit the Natural Park before 10:00, or after 18:00. Unfortunately, there is no direct bus from Girona to Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. However, you can take a bus departing from Girona — Jutjats, arrive at Can Blanc via Olot and take a 30-min walk straight to the park. The journey will take approximately 4 hours. The fastest way to get to the park is by taxi, which costs around 80 euro.

How is this museum different from others? It gives the history of Jewish persecution, led by Spain’s Catholic Church and its political rulers. You can download a special app for the audio guide to learn more about Jewish history in Girona. The entry costs only 4 euro, and the approximate duration of the tour is 1 hour. Here is a small tip: try to find the indentations in some doorways where mezuzahs (Jewish prayer scroll housed within a decorative case) once hung.

The highlight of this place is that the tables and chairs are placed on the steps of Pujada de Sant Domènec — a narrow and small street with ancient buildings. The best part is that the restaurant is not expensive, and just for 10 euro you can get a Catalan speciality, Lies Pizzes de Pagès. It is a crusty white farmhouse loaf with melted cheese and a wide choice of toppings. Complement it with wine and feel the romantic vibe of the city.
