Cheap flights from Dublin to Perpignan from £59

Going to the restaurant in Perpignan, study the menu carefully if you don’t want to spend extra money. A lot of restaurants have two prices on the menu: “au comptoir” and “a salle”. The first sign is for visitors, who are seated at the counter. The second is for those, who are eager to take place in the hall at a table. As a rule, “au comptoir” price is 15-20% lower than the price “a salle”. Make a choice knowingly.

On Good Friday in Perpignan you can see the unforgettable but rather gloomy “living attraction” of the city. In complete silence, people in black pointed caps and black clothes pass along the streets. It can remind easily of the Holy Inquisition or Ku Klux Klan, but this isn’t it. In such a way people show how they grieve about those sentenced to death. Witness this scary but mesmerizing pageant.

Like almost everything in Perpignan, food also has a strong Catalan accent. You can taste paella and other rice dishes with saffron in many traditional restaurants. You can also give a try to cargols a la llauna, which are grilled or baked snails in aioli or vinaigrette. If you like them, visit L’Escargot de Roussillon on Place de la République. This is a specialty shop selling only fresh snails and herbs to cook them in.
