If you want to see wild nature with almost no tourists, walk around off the beaten path in nature in Somiedo. It’s a Unesco-listed biosphere which is the best hiking destination after the Picos de Europa. The park is made of 5 valleys: Cigüeñas, Las Aortas, Puerto de Somiedo, Sapiencia, and Valle del Lago. These valleys span over 300 square kilometres, offering more than enough ways for you to explore. Remember that there are wild animals in Somiedo, so always remain alert.

The part of the Asturian coastline is called the ‘Jurassic or Dinosaur’ coast. This name refers to the section between the cities of Gijón and Ribadesella (approx. 75 km long). Along the coast, you find footprints and fossil bones left by dinosaurs and other Jurassic reptiles. The best way to get there is to book a special tour.
