If you arrive at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) in Belgrade, which is also the biggest airport in the country, and you’re going to any other city, no worries. It takes a few hours to get to any city within the country.

General information about Serbia

Serbia doesn’t have Euro or US dollar, exchanging cash for the Serbian dinars before traveling is always recommended. Although credit and debit cards are also universally accepted throughout the country, having cash and coins on you is still recommended.

Nowadays, almost 6.87 million residents live in Serbia.

The only official language in Serbia is Serbian. However, the majority of people can speak one more language besides their native one; usually it is English, Hungarian, Bosnian, Romani, Slovak, Albanian, Romanian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Rusyn.

Serbia shares borders with Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania.

Weather in Serbia

Serbia has warm-humid continental climate which is pretty similar to some countries in that part of Europe. If you are considering a visit to Serbia during the summer holidays, then you don’t need to take warm clothes with you as the weather is usually pleasant and sunny. Although if you are coming in August you might want to bring a light jacket with you as it can get a bit cold in the evenings. Nevertheless, when you’re travelling to Serbia we recommend you to check the weather forecast before your trip so you can pack appropriate clothes.
