Reus travel tips

1) In Reus, pay a visit to Xivarri Tasca on Wednesday to try a wide selection of croquettes

Xivarri Tasca is famous for one of the best tapas bars in Reus. Every Wednesday, they celebrate Croquette Day and cook artisan croquettes with thousands of flavours. One croquette costs around 2 euro, and they also have a great selection of wines to serve it with. Also, we recommend trying Jamon Iberico and toasted bread with tomatoes and octopus on a little bed of mashed potatoes.

2) Visit one of the oldest churches in Reus — San Pedro

The Church of San Pedro is located at the Plaza San Pedro. This church was finished in 1569 but then was destroyed and turned into the public market during the Civil War. In 1941, the church was restored by the architect Cesar Martinell. It is famous for its beautiful stained glass windows and a bell tower with a wonderful view over the city. Opening hours are from 10 to 13:20, and they hold a mass at 13:30 on Sundays. It’s free to enter, but you can light a candle for 1.5 euro to donate to funds.

3) Visit Port Aventura — the biggest theme park in Spain, 8 km from Reus

The Port Aventura theme park is approximately 8 kilometres from Reus. It’s worth visiting if you want to spend time in the biggest theme park in Spain. The venue is divided into several 'geographical' areas: American West, Mediterranean, Polynesia, China, and Mexico. A train can take you to each of these locations if you do not want to go on foot. The entry ticket for one day costs 50 euro, and the park is open from 10:30 to 18:00.
