Today, the Ybor City area looks very modern. However, it is the oldest area in the city and was originally the Latin American Quarter. There used to be factories for the production of cigars, which brought glory to the city. Later, stylish skyscrapers were built on the site of historic buildings. Today, the area’s historical past is reminiscent of the Ybor City Cigar Museum, which is housed in one of the preserved ancient buildings.

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park pleases the eye with its original design. An open grassy lawn slopes down to the river with wide terraces. Around the green area, there are the Louvre and Fog fountains, next to a huge playground.
