The stone bridge connecting the banks of the Ebro River is almost 600 years old. In ancient times, it connected Zaragoza with other cities in Spain as a ferry. Aljafería is a medieval fortified Moorish castle dating back to the 11th century. The castle is perfectly preserved, and you can get an impression of the period of history when Zaragoza was a Muslim city from it. Be sure to explore the throne room with its beautifully decorated arches and the Troubadour Tower, whose dramatic story inspired Giuseppe Verdi's opera. The admission fee is 5 euro, on Sundays, it is free.
