Zaragoza travel tips

1) To get to Zaragoza city centre from the airport, take bus 34 or 51

Aeropuerto de Zaragoza is located 12 kilometres from the centre of Zaragoza. There is a bus every 30 minutes. Buses 34 and 51 run between the airport and the city centre. The ticket costs 1.85 euro. These buses arrive at the Delicias railway station, from where intercity buses and trains leave.

2) If you decide to stay in the centre of Zaragoza, note that the buildings do not have lifts or heating

The cost of a hotel in the historic centre of Zaragoza is 35-80 euro. Hostels start from 15 euro per person. However, note that the city centre consists of historic buildings with no lifts or heating. If you are travelling to Zaragoza in winter or late autumn or have a lot of luggage, this can be inconvenient. You may also prefer other city areas with more modern buildings and lower hotel prices: Delicias, El Gancho, and La Almozara.

3) Start your exploration of Zaragoza from the central square, Plaza Cesar Augusto

In the Cesar Augusto square, you will see the remains of an ancient fortress wall built between the I and III centuries. It is also a favourite place for tourists and locals, and you can relax in one of the dozens of cute cafes in the square, watching the city's life.
