Once Nantes was one of the biggest slave trade spots. Memorial De L'abolition De L'esclavage is dedicated to the abolition of the slave trade in the city. The memorial operates from 9:00 to 18:00 daily. It displays an exhibition recounting the history of slavery development and its way to abolition in Nantes in the 18th century. The memorial is located at Quai de la Fosse and connected by the route with the Nantes history museum.
