1) Visit the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Bordeaux to see the medieval architecture and enjoy organ concerts in summer
The Cathedral of Saint Andrew is located at Place Pey Berland. It's declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; its history dates back to the 12th century. The face displays scenes of Christ in Majesty, the Last Supper, and the Ascension. The cathedral stood on the way of the medieval Route of Saint James pilgrimage trail from Médoc, France, to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Organ concerts in Bordeaux are held during summer. The cathedral opens at 15:00 daily.
2) Check out how the sea world is reflected in artworks in the Museum of the Sea and the Navy
The Musee Mer Marine stands on the shores of the Garonne and displays the maritime history of Bordeaux through the prism of art. There are permanent collections and temporary exhibitions daily from 10:00 to 18:00. You can learn the history of navigation through art, navigation instruments, scale models and life-size boats, maps and atlases. With multimedia devices and other playful tools, your tour will become lively and interactive. You can buy tickets on the Musee Mer Marine website.
3) Open up contemporary art creations while in Bordeaux
The contemporary art museum of Bordeaux (CAPC) is located in the southern part of Chartrons. It's situated in the former wool warehouse. You can observe the collections of modern art combined with old industrial architecture. At the moment, over 300 artworks are presented in the museum. It also hosts temporary exhibitions. The museum works from 11:00 to 18:00 Tuesday-Sunday.
