Glasgow travel tips
Glasgow Airport is 13 kilometres from the city centre. You can get to the city from the airport using the 24-hour Glasgow Airport Express shuttle bus 500. It makes stops at Hope Street, George Square, and Buchanan Bus Station in the city centre. The ticket costs £ 7.50 (€ 8.7) one way.
The Burrell Collection (collected by the shipping magnate Sir William Burrell) hosts many artworks by famous artists, such as Rodin, Degas, and Cézanne, and many objects of late medieval art, Chinese and Islamic art. The entrance is free.
Scotland Street School Museum used to be a real school and then was turned into a museum to show what education in Scotland was like from the late 19th century. The building itself was built by famous local architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh between 1903 and 1906. So, it’s a nice place to visit for those who have a passion for architecture or education.
