Bilbao travel tips
The Church of San Nicolas de Bari was built at the northern entrance to the Casco Viejo area in 1756. It was dedicated to the patron saint of sailors, Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and has an imposing baroque frontispiece. Above the main portal, you can admire the shield with the Bilbao coat of arms.
Unlike many other Spanish cities, in Bilbao, they cook not tapas but pintxos. These are similar but more difficult-to-prepare sandwiches with seafood, fish, scrambled eggs, and other fillings.
