If you’re in Oviedo, stop at the Mining and Industry Museum, which is about 20 minutes away. You can get there by a regular bus route with Alcotán. Stop: ‘El Entrego’ or, travelling by car, take motorway A-66 and then exit 40 in Olloniego. Even if you’re not interested in mining, you’ll learn a lot. The museum will uncover the importance of mining in Asturias’ history and take you on a very realistic simulated journey down a mineshaft about 600 meters beneath the earth into an abandoned mine.

If you want to see water jets (geysers) that are formed by the big waves hitting the caves in the cliffs, make sure to ask around when they are fully active or download the special app 'My Tide Times' to track it. If the sea is calm, you will hear the waves through the holes in the cliff but won't see the spray. If you have such an opportunity, wait for high tide and a rougher sea.
