Tenerife travel tips
Sample Tenerife’s speciality, fresh goat cheese with mojo sauce
The Canary Islands residents are known to consume more cheese than continental Spain. While visiting Tenerife, you should try some local cheese speciality. Fresco goat cheese is the most famous. For the best taste, it should be only a few days old. Some farmers cover the cheese with the pepper of Gofio (local flour). You can order it fresh, fried, or grilled, and let it be accompanied with mojo sauce, one more traditional speciality. Bon appetit!
Nothing to worry about in Tenerife, though don’t neglect basic safety rules
Tenerife, as well as all Canary Islands, is very safe with low crime rates. However, basic safety rules will come in handy. Do not leave valuables in the car. Staying in the hotel, use a safe. Avoid poorly lighted streets at night. In case of any emergency, ask your hotel receptionist for advice. Be careful!
Take care of your skin, eyes, and head being on the beach of Tenerife
Though you may not feel it, being close to the water, the sun hits hard in Tenerife. Don’t forget to wear a sunhat and sunglasses. Use sunscreen once every two hours and avoid being in the sun when radiation is the strongest, from noon to 16:00. Take care of your health!
