Honolulu International Airport is 8 km from the city centre
Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is just 8 km from the centre of Honolulu. A trip by taxi to Waikiki (tourist and cultural centre of the city) will cost $30-40 (€25-33). You can also take advantage of public transport for $2.75 (€2.30) in one direction. In this case, look for buses 19 and 20. You will spend about 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic. Prepare cash – cards are not accepted.
Visit the crater of the extinct volcano Diamond Head in Honolulu
Diamond Head became the most famous and visited tourist object and the symbol of the island. The crater with a diameter of 1073 m and a height of 231 m was formed after the eruption of the Koolau volcano on the island of Oahu. Beautiful pedestrian trails lead to a sightseeing platform, offering an amazing panoramic view of Honolulu and the Pacific Ocean. The ticket costs $1 (0.8 euro).
