Being visible from any part of the city, the Alcazaba fortress with its rather impressive architectural complex is worth visiting. The entrance ticket costs 1,5 euro. To get there quickly, take the bus L1 or go there on foot admiring the historical part of the city. On the highest tower, Torre del Homenaje, there is an observation deck from which visitors can admire the cityscape. Not far from the castle, there is the village of La Chanca, notable for the fact that its inhabitants chose small caves as their homes. The dwellings are equipped with the latest technology, but fishing has been the main craft of residents for many centuries.

Mae West, located on Parque Nicolás Salmerón, 17 street, is always chock-full with locals and tourists till 6:00. Pretty often, in between drinking tasty Almería Sunrise beer and eating crispy fish, you can take part in salsa nights. You can learn to dance (lessons are free) just before the party.

According to local customs, in Almeria, meat is never roasted to a well-done degree. So, if you are not used to eating medium roasting degrees, always ask your waiter for additional well-done roasting. By the way, one of the best restaurants to eat meat in Almeria is Tango Bar & Restaurante on Calle de Felipe II, 64 street, where you will find different types of meat and steaks.
