The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame is dedicated to the women who play this popular game at all levels. As well as tracing the history of basketball, the museum also highlights all the best-known players, and visitors, who feel like being put to the test, can have their basketball skills challenged on one of the courts. The most amazing exhibit must be the world’s largest basketball, which is 30 feet high, weighs 10 tons and sits atop the Hall of Fame!

Lakeshore Park is located near the University of Tennessee and fringes the Tennessee River. The park covers 185 acres of land. There are views to enjoy of the river and the Great Smoky Mountains and a walking trail around the perimeter, sports fields, and for children, there are two fun playgrounds, too. In the winter, Lakeshore is a popular place for sledging. During the summer months, there is a Farmers’ Market every Friday.

Fort Kid is a fenced small play park for children that is within easy walking distance of the Sunsphere. There are towers, swings, monkey bars, and a cave, and they have all been sensitively made and painted to blend with the local environment.
