The Everson Museum of Art is an interesting place to visit, and the interest starts with the design of the building itself, which was inspired by sculpture. The museum was the first to be dedicated solely to American art and the first to have a permanent exhibition of sculptures. The museum was also the first to start collecting art using the medium of video. Today, the museum has more than 11,000 pieces.

The city of Syracuse has long been the home of many different nationalities with different religious traditions and beliefs. This fact is clearly portrayed in the local religious architecture. The city officials grew tired of repeatedly replacing the red light and agreed to turn the lights upside down to keep the Irish workers happy!
