Boise travel tips
During the last century, Boise used to have a railroad, and the city’s train depot is where the steam trains were maintained. The depot was built in 1925 in an attractive Spanish architectural style. The depot fell into disuse in 1997 but has been carefully maintained ever since.
There are a series of attractive ponds at Esther Simplot Park for a variety of water-based activities, including wading, swimming, and fishing, as well as paddle-boarding. The park has been created in a series of old gravel pits. The park is good for families as there are children’s play areas and a wetland area for wildlife spotting.
