Charleston travel tips
The Morrison lighthouse is situated about a thousand feet offshore at the entrance to Charleston Harbour. The trail leads from Folly Beach, and the best vantage point of the lighthouse is from the top of the sand dune. The lighthouse is no longer in operation, but it is well worth discovering, as is the isolated sandy beach behind it.
Explore the waterways and estuaries of Charleston Harbour with a qualified naturalist. The 2-hour tour is for small groups of visitors so that you get the most out of the trip, which is focusing on the wildlife. You will visit Morris Island to pull in a crab basket and search for seashells, as well as learn about the myriad of different birds.
There is only one vineyard in South Carolina, so it would be a shame not to visit it! Deep Water vineyard covers 50 acres. You can enjoy a tour with a tasting of some of the winery’s reds and whites, or if you want to take things a little more leisurely, you can order an accompanying cheeseboard.
