This old park, created in 1888, has more than 90 species of trees and shrubs. However, diverse plant life and classic English gardens with an avenue of roses aren’t it's only attractions. In Kościuszko Park, you can find the oldest religious building in Katowice — the wooden Church of St. Michael the Archangel, constructed in 1510. Another object of interest is the 35-metre Parachute Tower, in which Silesian scouts tried to defend Katowice from the German troops in 1939.

The ICC building in the Culture Zone of Katowice is one of Poland’s biggest venues for exhibitions, trade fairs, and conferences. It can accommodate up to 15,000 people at once! The most remarkable thing about ICC is its roof, which functions as a public square. It is largely covered with grass, but, alas, sitting there is forbidden. Still, if you want to have a rest, the area has some curiously shaped wooden benches.
