Getting from Quito city center to Quito airport

Quito is served by Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO), located approximately 18 km northeast of the historic city center. Opened in 2013, the airport replaced the old downtown facility and sits at an altitude of around 2,400 meters above sea level. Travelers heading to the airport from the city center can choose from public buses, the Ecovía BRT feeder service, taxis, ride-hailing apps, and private transfers. Journey times vary considerably depending on traffic conditions and the time of day. This guide covers the main transport options available for airport transfers from the city center, helping you plan your trip with confidence.

Notes:

  • Prices in USD; table created in 2026 and subject to change.
  • The Aerosiervi bus departs from La Marín terminal in central Quito and runs directly to Mariscal Sucre International Airport.
  • The Metro de Quito does not currently serve the airport directly; a connecting bus or taxi is required from the nearest metro station.
  • Taxi fares are metered in Quito; always use officially licensed taxis or regulated ride-hailing apps to avoid overcharging.
  • Journey times can increase significantly during peak hours, especially on the highway to the airport.
  • We recommend checking official transport websites for your travel planning.
