El Bañuelo is the oldest and best-preserved hammam (Arab public bath) in Andalusia. At the time of the Moorish conquest, this place was an important place to wash up and expand social networks. Most such baths were demolished by the Christians, who reconquered the area. El Bañuelo has some beautifully decorated arches and pillars. The prominent star-shaped apertures in the ceiling provided light and ventilation.
