A Coruña travel tips
Walk along Playa de Riazor in Coruna — the longest seaside promenade in Europe
Playa de Riazor is located in the city centre just across the street from the Melia Maria Pita. It lies at the 'bottom' of a horseshoe-shaped cove, so the waves are small, and the water is crystal clear. It is a pleasant beach to relax in silence, but be aware that the water is cold. Also, make sure to watch the red cross flags and be cautious, as the beach is facing the Atlantic ocean, so it may be dangerous to swim in some places.
Check out A Coruña’s fish market
The fish market is open only till 9 o’clock, so if you’re an early riser, you can’t miss it. It is really worth a visit if you can arrange it (Note: reservations are required). The best days to visit the fish market in Coruna are Tuesdays and Thursdays when boats from the high seas return with fresh seafood like swordfish and blue-finned tuna.
Try 'the other paella', arroz con carabineros y zamburiñas, at Celeiro bar in Coruna
Another must-try dish in Coruna is the rice dish that may remind the taste of paella. It comes with a very generous amount of bay scallops. Moreover, the bright red deep-sea Carabineros add a strong seafood flavour. You will enjoy this local Coruna dish.
