Tourists in Valencia often take Mercat Colón for the market because of its name. In fact, the market is only in its Spanish name and the building in which it is located. Mostly, locals come here to eat out, and there is ham and cheese for sale on the ground floor. The place itself is beautiful; it is worth seeing and sipping a glass of local wine.

2) Make sure to buy Valencia's local cheese for yourself or as a souvenir

If you crave a cosy dinner at home or a picnic in Valencia, buy the salty cheese Queso de servilleta or the sweet Queso Blanket made from goat's milk. Supplement it with Mistela white wine or Bobal red wine.

3) Neco buffet in Valencia is a must-visit for people with a good appetite

If you do not expect sophisticated cuisine but want to have a hearty meal, head to the Neco buffet located 5 minutes walk from Ch. Valencia train station. Paying 11 euro, you get access to the buffet. Paella with seafood or meat in a huge frying pan, baked meat and even oysters. Tasty salads and desserts are also available. Drinks are not included, but prices are not expensive. A glass of beer is 3 euro, a litre of sangria is 7 euro. Mind that they have a break from 17:00 to 20:00.
