Lanzarote travel tips

1) Try to recognise Picasso's original hand in the Cesar Manrique Foundation centre in Lanzarote

Located on Calle Jorge Luis Borges, 16 street, the Cesar Manrique Foundation is a large cultural centre that became popular with the private art collection of Cesar Manrique. Recognising Picasso's hand, try to find his original sketches. Almost all the events held in the cultural centre are free of charge for visiting. You can visit this centre every day in summer from 10:00 to 18:00 and in winter from 10:00 to 15:00.

2) Feel free to speak English in the city of Lanzarote, but not in its outskirts

In Lanzarote, English, French and German are generally understood at most hotels and tourist attractions, with restaurants in Lanzarote often providing menus in several different languages. In smaller towns and villages around the island, a translation application may prove useful.

3) Supplement your walk in Lanzarote with tapas

Most tapas bars in Lanzarote sell portions (raciones) of their fare to take away (para llevar). Pay attention to the most popular Ensalada Rusa with mixed olives, some Tortilla Española and pack that with fresh tomatoes, fresh bread (with sachets of olive oil to put on it). Also, if you want to have a picnic, do not forget about a bottle of wine.
