Lanzarote travel tips
Caleta de Famara in Lanzarote is a paradise for active rest lovers
Hop on the bus line 20 from Central Bus Station and come to Caleta de Famara. It is a great destination to try your efforts in surfing and kite-surfing. Here the wind never stops blowing; this is the optimal place to have fun if you love these sports! The tallest rock on the island called Famara (about 600 metres in height) is nearby. You can take stunning photos in breaks between water activities.
Prefer La Cueva de Los Verdes cave to Jameos del Agua cave in Lanzarote
Jameos del Agua cave in Lanzarote has stunning views, but it is very crowded every day due to its popularity. If you do not feel like thronging, prefer La Cueva de Los Verdes cave. Unlike Jameos del Agua cave, it’s almost pristine. But bear in mind that tourists can reach it only accompanied by CACT’s guides. Here, the hike is 1 km long, a couple of meters below the ground, where the muffled silence resists the constant strong wind above. Be sure to arrange it in advance.
Visit Arrecife in Lanzarote early in the morning
Wake up and be ready to walk in Lanzarote, but do not have breakfast. Walk along the front of Arrecife, with the ocean on your right, and after about 500 metres, you’ll see a bridge on your right that leads to a castle. Opposite, you’ll see a pedestrian road called Calle Leon y Castillo. After walking around the shops and market stalls, take a right and see why not having breakfast at home. Pop into Gran cafe and enjoy chocolate and churros for breakfast.
