Málaga travel tips
Go to the Plaza de la Constitución in Málaga for people watching
The Constitution Square has been the hub of Málaga's life for centuries. The Calle Larios, the city's main street, ends here. The Mayor's House, the old jail, the Augustinian convent and some other interesting buildings are located on this square. The place is full of shops, cafes and restaurants. Take a cup of coffee or some other drink and enjoy studying the kaleidoscope of people around.
Don’t mix driving and drinking in Málaga
The upper alcohol limit in Spain is 0.5 grams per litre of blood. In other words, even a small glass of wine or beer can get you into trouble. If you got your licence less than two years ago, your maximum is 0.3 grams per litre. Don’t take those restrictions lightly; the fine for violating them ranges from €301 to €600. If you plan to explore Málaga bars, leave your car in the parking lot.
See the historic bullring of Málaga — the Plaza de toros de La Malagueta
The first event at this venue, which can accommodate up to 9,000 visitors, was held in 1876. The building has a Neo-Mudéjar style, a type of Moorish Revival architecture. The bullfighting season lasts from April to September. The major annual event is the Feria Taurina (Bullfighting Fair) in August. Climb the nearby lookout, the Mirador de Gibralfaro, to get some beautiful views of the bullring from above.
