This part of town is its beating heart! The market square was established in the mid-19th century and today is lined with cafés and restaurants so it is always a lively place! In the summer months, there are outdoor concerts in the square and other live events. Between May — November, there is a Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, selling a great selection of fresh produce from the East Tennessee region. For children, there are two fun water features to enjoy.

Knox Whiskey Works is a small craft whiskey distillery. Opened in 2015, the distillery has already won awards for its Old Heirloom Corn Whiskey, which is produced, using locally grown corn. After distilling, the whiskey is stored in charred oak barrels, where it is transformed into an excellent bourbon. The distillery also produces gin, a pink gin, a coffee liqueur, three different vodkas, and a rum. If you enjoy cocktails, there is a selection to choose from, with Drunkin’ Pumpkin being the favourite.

The Onsight Rock Gym is Knoxville’s largest and highest indoor climbing wall. It has 12,000 square feet of climbing wall and a variety of climbs for practising top-roping, lead climbing, and bouldering. The main climbing area is 50 feet high. Experienced staff members keep a close eye on climbers and offer them friendly advice.
