Marble Springs State Historic Site was once home to John Sevier, Tennessee’s first governor and is where he spent his final 15 years until his death in 1815. There is no admission charge for enjoying the grounds, and this is one of seven historic homes that can be visited in Knoxville. The Bijou Theater is more than 100 years old and has recently been totally refurbished and is small, intimate and very comfortable, with seating for just 700 people.
