Warsaw travel tips

1) Get the best view of the city from the highest building in Warsaw

The Palace of Culture and Science has a terrace viewpoint on the 30th floor. From a height of 114 m, you can admire a wonderful panoramic view of Warsaw even at night. Besides, the building itself is remarkable. Built in 1955, this prominent example of so-called Stalinist architecture is still one of the highest buildings in Europe! On top of it, the Palace has the third tallest clock tower in the world.

2) See the 8-meter moving installation at the Cosmopolitan tower in Warsaw

The ‘You and Me’ installation in the Warsaw centre was created by the Israeli artist Eran Shakine. It is 8 meters tall and shows the woman and the man facing each other from the opposite ends of a 20-meter beam. The couple moves slowly up and down, symbolising constantly changing relationships. However, you will hardly notice it as the whole cycle takes eight hours.

3) Free admission days in Warsaw museums

You can visit many museums in Warsaw free of charge on certain days of the week. For example, on Tuesday, free admission is provided to the National Museum (Muzeum Narodowe). On Wednesday, you can go to the Royal Castle. On Thursday, you can visit the Museum of Lazienki Park or the King John III's Palace at Wilanów. The list of free museums is much bigger; look for information on the website of any museum before your trip.
