Biarritz is known as one of the best surfing spots in Europe. Some surfers choose the city's main beach, Grand Plage, but it does have low tides. Other beaches, 4 km long, stretch to the south of the city and are more attractive for surfing.

If you come to Biarritz during the low season or the ocean waters are too cool for you, you can take a trip to Cambo-les-Bains and bask in the thermal springs. In this resort town, the writer Edmond Rostand built his Villa Arnaga, surrounded by a beautiful French park. Now there is a museum dedicated to this author, which you can also visit. Cambo-les-Bains is only 23 km from Biarritz; you can get there by car or by regional train with a change in Bayonne.

Banks in Biarritz are open from 09:00 to 16:30 and often close for lunchtime. Most bank offices are closed on weekends.
