Glasgow travel tips
Glasgow city centre is not very large. If you stay in the central area, you can save a lot on public transport. Look for accommodation in the George Square area — this is the very centre of the city. A hotel room will cost around 50-100 euro there.
The Hunterian Art Gallery includes about 900 paintings. There are works by artists from all over the world, but the gallery is primarily focused on Scottish artists, especially the Glasgow Boys, the Scottish Colourists, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The entrance to the gallery is free.
Don't go overboard with ordering beer in a Scottish pub! Typically, all traditional Glasgow pubs have a price per pint on their menus. One pint is almost 500 ml ( 473 ml exactly).
